September 18, 2024

MSA Board of Directors sponsored a Town Hall meeting on expansion. Thank you to all the families who came. The slides are posted in the Important Documents section. The the slides include a 3D rendering of the building design and some floor plan sketches. We are currently working on the construction schedule based on the timing of all the due diligence reports and needed approvals. JB Vang will attend the September 24 board meeting and give updates and recommendations.

July 18, 2024

The BOD approved entering into a purchase agreement for the 36 acres at Bailey and Mile Drive in Woodbury. The property is about 2 miles south of the current school. We are now entering the due diligence period which includes environmental and soil testing, rezoning, a traffic study, and surveying. We are continuing our push to open in the fall of 2025. More updates will be posted in the next few weeks.

May 28, 2024

The Board of Directors decided to make a pivot in our expanion efforts. They authorized a transition from our previous project management team to JB Vang for budgetary reasons. We are excited to bring Kou Vang and his team on board. They have completed 32 out of 32 charter school expansion projects on time and on budget. We still expect our project to be completed by no later than the fall of 2026 but perhaps we will be finished sooner. Look for another Town Hall in late June.

We had a great turn out for our Expansion Town Hall last night. Thank you to those who came. I have attached the slides and a link to ask questions if you were unable to attend. We are at an exciting time in our expansion journey. We have identified three properties as potential school sites. One is in Woodbury and the other two are in northern Cottage Grove. Our project team is completing feasibility studies on all three sites. That work will be completed in the next week or two. The board is expected to select a property in May to pursue. Once the property is identified a due diligence period will begin to ensure that site meets all of our guidelines.

Febuary 9, 2024

As many of you know, we were working on getting some additional leased space to increase our enrollment prior to our move into a new building. Unfortunately, the building owners pulled out of negotiations this week. Our plans for expansion will continue, only without the interim space. We are planning for a great 24-25 school year in our current location.

January 19th, 2024
