Employment Opportunities
The Math and Science Academy (MSA) is a 2009 NCLB Blue Ribbon School that offers an excellent work environment supported by an exceptional professional staff. In addition, we offer a competitive salary and generous benefits package.
Under Minnesota Statute, a charter school must employ or contract with necessary teachers, supervisory personnel, and support personnel, as defined by section 122A.15, who hold valid licenses to perform the particular service for which they are employed in the school. In addition, if a teacher employed by a district makes a written request for an extended leave of absence to teach at a charter school, the district must grant the leave. You also maintain your TRA benefits, since MSA is a public school.
Please note, effective August 1st 2024, a staff member eligible for an enrollment preference for their child, including a foster child, must be an individual employed at the school whose employment is stipulated in advance to total at least 480 hours in a school calendar year. More information on Admission Requirement and Enrollment for charter school can be found here from MN Statute 145.E.11.
